Clubs and activities

We believe there’s more to school than school!  We offer a range of clubs in school break-times and in out of school hours.

Sport

There are lots of opportunities for sport, run both by the teaching staff and by outside groups. Our aim is to provide sporting opportunities for all children and to show them that sport can be fun.

We have links with at least 7 local clubs, including Leamington tennis and Squash club, Hunningham and Leamington Cricket clubs and Go4Goals football club.

Brookhurst has a long tradition of participation in the Central Warwickshire School Sports Programme, entering numerous competitions over the academic year.  We have entered the Cross Country League and we participate in the district athletics during the summer term.

Music

Music tuition for a range of instruments is provided in school by peripatetic teachers from the County Music Service. The instruments currently on offer include recorder, keyboard, flute, clarinet, violin, cello and brass. Instruments are available on loan in the first instance, for many instruments. Costs vary depending on whether children have individual or group lessons. Further details can be obtained from the school office.

The school also boasts a choir led by Miss Honey and an orchestra, comprising staff and pupils, which meets on Wednesday mornings before school.
