Brookhurst Primary School
A place to think and grow

Going for gold!

This week a team of Year 3 boys took part in a football competition at Trinity School against other local primary schools. The boys were thrilled to be chosen and although they didn’t finish as champions, they had a fantastic afternoon and gained valuable experiences. Well done to Harry, Joe, Luca and Joseph from Year 3 and James, Riley, Guyan and Leon from Year 4.

Mini Olympic Champs

Well done to the Year 6 children who entered a Mini Olympics afternoon at North Leamington School this week. We concluded the afternoon with a 1st and 3rd place. Fantastic! Well done to Jai, Aaron, Grace, Ben, Caitlin, Angelique, Leo, Katie!

Upcoming sporting events

Brookhurst prides itself on our sporting opportunities and achievements. As part of our ever growing sporting plans, we will be hosting 3 house events this academic year. We hope to involve as many children as possible and run competitions within the school, against each other.  The children will have an opportunity to work together collaboratively to earn house points for their team whilst taking part in competitive sports. There will also be opportunities for children to be engaged in the scoring, running and planning of events as opposed to the sport itself.

 The events will be:

  1. Autumn Term: Year 5/6 Football tournament
  2. Spring Term: KS1 Multi Skills competition
  3. Summer Term: Year 3/4 Cricket tournament

As much as we would love to include every child, our staffing structure will not allow us to do this. The health and safety of the children are always our priority. We will be asking children first and foremost, who would like to take part, then working out what is physically possible. There will still be a Sports Day in the summer term.

The football tournament is under discussion at the moment and your child will be notified if they are taking part soon. Of course, parents of those invited will be welcome to come along and support and cheer!
